HANNIBAL - Several bridges throughout the Mark Twain Lake area will be worked on this year and detours will be set up as the roads will close at these bridges during construction.  A special web page has been designed to provide the list and links to each of the locations and can be found at http://www.modot.mo.gov/northeast/MarkTwainLake.htm.

"Fortunately, there are several ways to get around at the lake, and the businesses are all accessible for visitors coming for recreation," said Marisa Brown-Ellison, community relations manager with MoDOT's Northeast District.

Most of these bridges are under MoDOT's innovative Safe and Sound Bridge Program.  Several are being replaced, while others are having bridge decks replaced or rehabilitated.

More information about road work around the Mark Twain Lake area can be found on MoDOT's website at www.modot.org/northeast
