Mark Twain Lake-October 28, 2008---The Corps of Engineers is extending the camping season for Mark Twain Lakes’ Ray Behrens and Indian Creek Campgrounds to November 24, 2008. The extension is the result of visitors requesting camping sites during hunting season. We would be remiss if we did not remind hunters to follow all safe hunting practices, leave a hunting plan with someone, be a responsible and ethical hunter, be prepared for any problems, and most important be safe. So where can you hunt? There are approximately, 45,000 acres of land and water available for hunting. The lake is surrounded with hunter-fisherman access areas for your convenience. Please obey the “No Hunting Zones” posted around the recreation areas. No off-road vehicles are allowed. For more information, please phone the Mark Twain Lake Project Office at 573-735-4097 or email
