The Mark Twain Lake Chamber of Commerce in Cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are sponsoring the1st ever Salt River Expo to be held at the Warren G. See South Spillway recreation Area below the Clarence Cannon Dam.  The event will be a living history tribute to the American Armed Forces and a commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Mark Twain Lake and Clarence Cannon Dam in the Historic “Culture Cradle” of the Salt River Valley.”   The event will be held May 15 - 17 2009.

 

The event will include living history displays,  Civil War Renactments, Military Displays, Indian and Western reenactors, and other history related displays.  Music lovers will enjoy the all day open acoustical jam as well as performances by the Missouri Compromise band and Helen Cornelius.

Hannibal's new Baseball team's Mascots  Shoo-less Joe and his friend, Rascal the raccoon will be available to meet fans on Friday and Sunday.  A baseball rivalry over 100 years old will also be revived when two 1860's baseball teams take the field.  The Hannibal Nationals will take on the St Louis Perfectos in an exhibition game on Sunday May 17th.

Many food vendors will be present and many vendors will be offering a wide range of arts, crafts, and other merchandise for sale.  For moreinformation please contact the Mark Twain Lake Chamber of Commerce or check this website www.visitmarktwainlake.org for updates as they become available.
