Mark Twain Lake January 26, 2010----The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a series of meetings with the public as the update of the Mark Twain Lake Water Control Manual continues. The first meeting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the Clarksville Visitor Center, just off Hwy 70 on the northern edge of Clarksville, Missouri. Also on February 2, an evening meeting will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. at Your Event Center, 120 South Fifth Street, Louisiana, Missouri. The New London Lions Club, 600 West Street, New London, Missouri, will be the site of two meetings on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Meeting times for the New London events are 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.; the same information will be presented at each meeting. The final meetings in this series will be conducted on Thursday, February 4, 2010. A 10:00 a.m. meeting will be held on this date at the Harbor Inn, 18552 Harbortown Road, Monroe City, Missouri. The evening meeting on February 4 will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Paris Senior Citizens Community Center, 112 East Marion Street, Paris, Missouri. The Corps of Engineers will be discussing the alternative model runs that were developed as a result of previous meetings. The preferred Water Control Plan will be presented and discussed.
