September 11th, 2011, Mark Twain Lake, Monroe City, Missouri- Come set sail with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake for a night of pirate fun on Saturday September 17th, 2011 at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center. The Salt River Pirates will return to host a series of high seas activities. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. with a GPS treasure hunt. At 7:30 pm you can learn about the lives of Pirates sung to a merry tune during Pirate Tom's campfire concert. Throughout the night there will be sailboats for close up viewing in the parking lot, chances to make your own treasure crafts and there may be even a pirate ship or two sailing in the lake below the Visitor Center balcony! Inspiring pirates of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend in their own pirate costumes. Prizes, decorations and activities will be sponsored by the Mark Twain Lake Sailing Association, Long John Silver's of Hannibal, MO and the Salt River Navigation Company of Florida, MO. It's sure to be a "swash buckling" good time! The M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center is located on Rt. J, just south of the Clarence Cannon Dam.
