If late March is any indication, crappie anglers are in store for a super spring. Those folks who took advantage of the few nice days weather-wise and fished were surprised, delighted and even shocked at the early season crappie bite. Fishing the back waters of the feeder creeks where the water temperature hovered around 50 degrees, the crappie were actively chasing their favorite food--shad. The afternoon bite produced surprising numbers of 10-inch, some even larger, thick, healthy crappie. Our friends, Dennis and Jodi Gill of Timber Ridge Resort, are ready to offer their guests all the info on where to try that fishing luck. As always, the resort is beautiful and waiting to welcome new guests as well as many old friends. The lake is in good shape. Remember to check your boat registration, buy the 2010 fishing license and make sure your motor is ready for another fun year at 'Twain. Be safe; we'll see you on the water.
