The Mark Twain Lake Chamber of Commerce in Parntnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Salt River Expo will be held on May 14, 15 & 16 2010 at the Warren G. See South Spillway recreation Area below the Clarence Cannon Dam. The expo will feature displays by many different artisans and re-enactors. There will be many exhibitions of history, artifacts, music and cultural displays as well. The whole family will enjoy seeing the wide variety of activities available.
“A living history tribute to the American Armed Forces at Mark Twain Lake and Clarence Cannon Dam in the Historic “Culture Cradle” of the Salt River Valley.” 2010 Expo Information $5.00 for adults, maximum $15.00 per car 12 and under FREE Friday, May 14 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. “Discovery Day” free school tours (civic/non-profit adult groups welcome) Displays include Missouri State Highway Patrol; MoDOT, Department of Conservation, 4H, computer clinic, Backcountry Horsemen, glider landings, skydivers, Starlight Alpacas, Living History, steam engines, oxen and big dogs. 5:00 p.m. general admission Food vendors on site. Kids entertainment and playground available. Displays include aviation and skydiving; new boats and vehicles; lawn & garden; antique equipment; animals; crafts; sport machines (Hannibal Rocks); Living History; Horse Whisperer; re-enactors; and artifacts. Black Powder Shoot and live music. 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Draft Horse Pull followed by North Ely Opry till ??? Saturday, May 15 7:00 a.m.- 9:00 a.m. Re-enactors’ breakfast 8:00 a.m. other than period displays open to public 9:00 a.m. Re-enactments begin---Native American; Mountain Men; Civil War thru Vietnam; continuing black powder demos and competition 10:00 a.m. Barbara Stewart School of Dance 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Red Cross Bloodmobile 11:00 a.m. Lynn & Camilla’s Dance 12:00 p.m. National Anthem performed by Rep. Rachael Bringer accompanied by Mark Twain Jazz Band 1:00 p.m. Celtic Music by Ralugerri 1:00 p.m. Civil War re-enactment 2:00 p.m. Grandma’s Opry 3:00p.m. Music by Mark Twain Highschool 3:00 p.m. Registration Bobcat Rodeo 4:00 p.m. Bobcat Rodeo Also during the day; meet Tom & Becky; the Hannibal Cavemen mascots; Air Evac medical team; and watch skydivers 7:00 p.m. Garden Tractor Pull 9:00 p.m. till ???
