FIRST DAY STORYBOOK HIKE AT MARK TWAIN STATE PARK

12/21/2017

Start the New Year off right and join us for a First Day Storybook Hike January 1st on the Barefoot Sam Trail behind the Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site in Florida, Missouri. The easy-to-follow, self-guided hike should last about 20 minutes and is a half-mile in length. This is a quick, easily walked and kid-friendly trail. Storybook boards will supplement the trail to entertain pre-K through 3rd grade children with a winter-themed tale of animal life in the woods, but all ages will enjoy the hike. Come any time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Hikers can look forward to hot cocoa and snacks at the end of the trail. The Mark Twain Memorial Shrine will be open for visitors during that time as well. Call the historic site at 573-565-3440 to register for this event.
