The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake announces changes to the work schedule for infrastructure improvements at the Frank Russell Recreation Area. Due to weather delays some of the improvements will be postponed until fall. Equestrian campsites are currently open but the shower building will not be available until May 22, 2019. The Joanna and Clear View loops will open as first-come first-serve between May 22 through June 26, 2019 and return to reservation only beginning June 27, 2019.
The Flint Ridge loop will remain closed for repairs and will open when the work is completed, which is anticipated to be by June 26th.
The Ray Behrens campground will have a partial camp loop closure in Little Bluestem for water and sewer full service upgrades for sites #53 thru #58 and #61- #65 anticipated to last until late June of 2019.
We apologize for any inconveniencies this may cause. During this time we ask all of our recreation area visitors to follow posted signs in the area. We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation during the improvement process to enhance visitor services and system reliability.
